Dear WhitePaul, I don't know who your Margaret Martin was, but I would sure like to ride on the coattails of your query. Also in the 1820 census of Hall Co GA (ref Hall Co GA 1820 census pg 147) was: John Martin 26-45 one male <10 one female 16-26 one female <10 Who was this John Martin and family? Could he have been another son of your Margaret Martin? Could he have been the John Martin who was found in Jefferson Co FL in 1830 and 1840 with the same aged wife and children, as well as dying in Madison Co FL in 1850 at age 62, and noted as having been born in SC? What have you learned since you posted? Dear Listers, This is my first post here, and it's one I feel I owe as a way of returning in some small way the kindness extended to me over the years in the course of researching my own Herlihy roots. (I'm not related to the Martin family). A cousin who is a fellow genealogist recently sent me a copy of the 1915 NYC Census on which our mutual Herlihy ancestors were enumerated; listed at their address, 212 115th St., are the following individuals: 1. Martin, William C.; Head; Age: 47; Nativity: U.S.; Citizen; Salesman 2. Martin, Elizabeth A.; Wife; Age: 43; Nativity: U.S.; Citizen: Housework 3. Marin, William; Son; Age: 14; Nativity: U.S.; Citizen Block No. 1, Assembly District No. 28, Enumeration District 12, June 8, 1915 If anyone is interested in obtaining a hard copy of this document, please contact Livy at Genuspecies@aol.com.
Need help locating Howard Martin. Howard was born in Burke Co., Ga. in 1919. His parents were Crawford Martin and Irene Dorn. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII and after the war, settled in Southern California, I'm guessing the Costa Mesa region, I could be wrong. Thanks. And to all my fellow Marines, past and present, Happy Birthday. I salute you and all the veterans of the other branches of service as well. Janet and Herb, I did not see Herb's original post, but this is my Martin line. Here is what I know of Azariah's parents thanks to my father and Larry Martin, a distant cousin still in Illinois. Hello all I am not finding it easy to trace my MARTIN line! My first problem was that my father passed away some 16 years ago way before my interest in family history. My grandfather did not keep in contact with his sisters and his father Henry MARTIN died in 1910 when my grandfather was 18. So there was very little family knowledge. So far I have the following Henry MARTIN was born between 1856/1858 in Ballingdon Essex (near Sudbury, Suffolk) This birthplace is given on the 1881 and 1891 census. I have searched the birth indexes at the FRC and cannot find a Henry MARTIN born in these 3 years These years tie up with the 1881 1891 census ,death certificate and marriage certificate. He was married to Elizabeth NEWMAN on 8th July 1877 at the Sudbury Register Office. Henry's father is given as Thomas MARTIN deceased. Henry and Elizabeth had 8 daughters and one son Charles Henry MARTIN (my grandfather) born 30th Sept 1892. Well this is as far as I have got!! Kevin Martin

Hi, I'm new to the list and thought I would tell you who I am looking for. Carroll and Kate (Catherine Risinger) Martin were married in New Brighton, Beaver Co PA in 1867. I have found census that lists sons Charles, Clarence, and Albert Martin. Another census lists daughter-in-law Grace Martin and grandchildren Catherine and Herbert. In 1894 this family lived at 1011 Penn Ave, New Brighton, Beaver County, PA. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks, Janet Risinger Currie

On 31 January 1899, Lucy (Martin) Robinson (age 73) and her husband, William Robinson (also age 73) jointly swore a general affidavit on behalf of Lucy's sister, my ggg grandmother, Polly (Martin) Nichols. They gave their residence as Prospect, Oneida County, New York. This is the first I have heard of Lucy Martin and her husband, William Robinson. Anybody else know anything about this family? Thanks.
