I'm still looking for the parents of Nicholas Martin, born May 18, 1811 in Tennessee. He married Rebecca Sexton born June 29, 1914 in Tennessee. There is strong belief that Nicholas is the son of Jesse Martin, born in England and Silphenia Gibbs born in North Carolina, later lived in Tennessee. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nelda M. Kyzar

Does anyone know the maiden name of Catherine the 2nd wife of Jacob Martin of Leicester/Asheville, NC? She was the mother of the last 4 of his children and is listed on his will of 1845. She is not my ancestor but I would still like to know her name. According to the 1830 census she was between 30 and 40 years of age.; that would mean she was born between 1790 -1800 give or take a month or few. And does anyone know the ancestry of Mary Pluming (and assorted other spellings) Jacob's first wife (b ca 1770) whom he married in 1787 in Lincoln Co and who died between 1820 -1830. Would like communication with anyone working on this Martin line.: Jacob Martin born ca 1762 Lincoln Co (Tyron), NC <---> 1845 Leicester, Buncombe County, NC.
