Is it when someone lists everyone from the year one to the present date? Or is it when they indicate something like "Roll Call" as the subject? My biggest complaint is when names are given without a date, place or anything. Would suggest those folks try the LDS center in Utah first. I admit, I delete anything immediately that doesn't tell me who, where and when or some other definitive information. Most of the serious researchers I correspond with do the same. Right now, I have 5 pages of email to try and read. You can bet there will be no reading, guessing or writing back to anyone who isn't clear in their subject and message. I don't want to hear a couple of paragraphs about who you are looking for before you even tell me their names, when and where from, etc. Those get deleted too. Sorry to be a grunch, but I have only a limited time to cover all my genealogy lists, information, etc. Tom Thomas W. My Luther D Martin says he was born in South Carolina somewhere around 1811. He ends up in Mississippi, Arkansas, and last Freestone Texas in 1860. I believe their could be a connection with some of the Alabama Martins. Does any one have a missing Luther D Martin in the family? I can't get past him. Family history says they are PA Dutch. His daughter was petite. I think that might be a family trait. I would appreciate any help with Luther. His wife was Rutha ? born around 1806. Thank you, Sharon Holland

Hi Trudy, Your Martin was born in the same period of time that some of mine were. I have a strong suspicion that mine were born in the area of Oneida, Madison and Herkimer Counties from 1798 thru 1815. They may have moved westward during the latter part of this periodthough. I am looking for any connection with this family, possibly cousins or uncles who may have migrated to this area together. Can you be of any help? Thanks and best wishes, John Trudy Limber wrote: > I wish I could help, but know my Martin b, 1801, was never in KY or OK. > Trudy
I don't believe I have posted this this list yet. The following is my line. It isn't much because I can't confirm some of the births or marriages. Most of what I have is from census information, death certificates and ssindex. James F. Martin born abt. 1813 in NC. He married a Laura. Last name unknown They had a son: James F. Martin b. about 1859 in MO. (I don't know what county. this information was taken from census.) died June 10, 1924. (have obit) married "Sis" Grey b. AL. They had a son: William Martin born Oct 1, 1899 Calvin, Hughes County, Indian Territory. Died March 10, 1967. Buried in Ulan, OK by his wife Gertie Ester Lee Mason. They had a son: William H. Martin born Aug. 30, 1940 m. March 15, 1963 to Elizabeth Martin b. Jan. 10, 1947 in Trussville, Jefferson Co., AL. William died sadly Feb. 20, 1999, buried in Middletown, Lake County, CA. They had five children. Brenda Sonia Kelly Michael Raylene. If anyone out there can help me I would so greatly appreciate it. I know that William (1899) had a sister because of some census info that I have. A neice lived with his parents and her last name was Mitchell. I know this is kinda long, but I am relatively new to this research. Thank you Kelly ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Hi folks, I am in the next day or so, updating my Server software with EXCITE going out of business. Cox Cable appears to cause the email to go from @home.com to @cox.net. So if you get a reject on my mail try with the @cox.net. I'll send an email when I am complete with updating the software with my new address. I hope this does not cause anyone any major problems, but my Server requires me to make the change. Ron Wagner 478 922 1353 in Warner Robins, GA

I noticed the name GASTON in your note. I am looking for info on Elizabeth Antionette MARTIN ( Nettie), born in Delaware Co OH in 1836. I found her living with the MARY GASTON family at age 13 in the 1850 Kingston Twnshp, Delaware Co OH 1850 census. She married a Mr. Wigton who died a few years after they married. Tfhen she moved to Iowa and married Geo Snyder. I have not found her parents and saw the name GASTON in connections with the name MARTIN. Is there a possible connect? She was my greatgrandmother. Thank you, Bonnie
You can access the social security records for free at ancestry.com I think it even will generate a letter for you to print and mail. You can get the address to write for a death certificate at <A HREF="http://vitalrec.com/okcounties6.html#LeFlore"> http://vitalrec.com/okcounties6.html</A> This site for will also give the price and may generate a letter for you as well. Also.....get on the rootsweb.com mailing list for the county she lived in and then send a letter to the list to see if anyone can lookup the obit for you. Good luck, Kathy
Dear list, I am looking to make contact with Al Bishop. He has a Martin/Cumby web page on Rootsweb at WorldConnect. His email address has changed and I cannot make contact. He has information that may help me with my research. If anyone on the list knows who he is and how to reach him, I would appreciate your help. Thank you, Wanda

Absolutely. I find misspellings all of the time. I have not researched Ales Gramling (Gremling), just taken it from another resource and added it to my family tree.
