I have a Minnie Martin b. 1882 Sebastian Co., AR. She later lived in LeFlore Co., OK. Kathy
Yes, his parents (my ggg grandparents) were James L. and Sarah C. Smith Martin, who married in Jasper County, GA, 1821, moved to Randolph and Stewart Counties, GA, and then Dale and Barbour Counties, AL. I do not know who James L. Martin's siblings were, nor his parents--my brick wall. In addition to Andrew Jackson Martin, they were the parents of: Matthew A. Martin, b Jasper Co., GA, 1822/1823 Francis Marion Martin (my gg grandfather), b Jasper Co., GA, 1827 William Henry Martin, b Jasper Co., GA, 1829 John Floyd Martin, Stewart Co., GA, 1830 George W. Martin, Stewart Co., GA, 1832 Elizabeth A. Martin, Stewart Co., GA, 1834 Thomas W. Martin, Stewart Co., GA, 1837 Sarah Jane Martin, Stewart Co., GA, 1840 Harriet Martin, [Dale Co., AL?], 1841 Samuel M. Martin, [Dale Co., AL?], 1843 Mary Ann Martin, [Dale Co., AL?], 1845 Victoria Caroline Martin, [Dale Co., AL?], 1847 James Lafayette Columbus Martin, Barbour Co., AL, 1849 I've listed them in the event any of these names were used as the names of his (your Jackson Martin's) children. John... I really don't know a thing about Minnie except she married my grandfather's brother Claude Allen Williams on May 3, 1914 in Temple, Texas and as far as I know they lived there the rest of their lives. Claude was about 10 years older than my grandpa and I never knew him are his family. I am trying to get a little info on all of my grandpa's 13 brothers and sisters and Claude's family is the only one left that I have nothing on. If you can help I would appreciate it very much. Sandy

HI I too am looking for Martins from Georgia and Alabama. John was born around 1870 and robert around 1875 to a Froney or Saphroney and John Martin, they moved to Ellis County Texas in the lates 1800's. Any Connections ? Alice
Bill...thank you very much. This looks good enough to check out. Do you know the parents of your Andrew Jackson Martin? The Martins are, as you probably know, hard to trace because there are so many of them and some with the same names. John Kulbeth...Merced, Calif.
John, I'm pretty sure this won't help you, but thought I'd pass it along just in case. I have a Jackson Martin in my line. His real name was Andrew Jackson Martin, though. He was born in Jasper County, Georgia, 1824/1825 (age 26 in 1850 census, Barbour County, Alabama). I found a marriage for an A.J. Martin and Nancy A. Bevil, 30 Oct 1851, Barbour County, AL, but I don't know if this is "mine" or not. It's certainly highly probable, since the family was there and "A.J." could obviously be "Andrew Jackson." His mother's probate records indicate that he was dead by 1872. A deposition in those records also indicates that he was known as Jackson. That's all I have. Jacob Martin: Born [ ca 1862 ] or earlier.(Dispute) born in NC or PA (Dispute). Died [17 Feb 1845] in Buncombe Co, NC Married (1787 NC) first wife named Mary Plemons [ born ca 1770 died ca 1820]. They had 11 children: George, Philip, Jacob, William, John, Thomas, Elizabeth, Jane, Sarah, Mary, Margaret. Elizabeth married Littleton Parham; Jane married a Bryant; Margaret married a Turner; and Mary married a Lowe. Second wife Catherine [married after 1820]. They had 4 children: Silas, Jackson, Nancy, and Rachel. What I am looking for is the full name of the husbands of any of the daughters of Jacob Martin, whether from first wife or second. And would like any contact with those who have some info on the lives and deaths of Jacob's children. ONE of the things I hope to do with this information eventually is to look up the 1880 census record for any of Jacob's surviving children and see what they state for the birthplace of their parents.

Hi, I looking for Bridget Martin/Martyn who married Thomas O'Malley. Bridget's parents were, I believe, from the Camus, Galway area and they moved to Pittsburgh in the mid-1800s. Have little other information on them. Also need info on Annie Kilmartin/Gilmartin Kelly, who married James Martin/Martyn.
