Martin Middle Name was, what I got from A 3 erd Cousin was Just what I have been Putting Down, I did Learn that She Went By Jannie or Jenney --- Go Figure ! it Could be Willimina, Washington,Wawona or any one of about a Dozen other old time names that came out of TN in the Early 1800's She Married My G.G.Grandfather somewhere around Franklin County TN. and that could have been AR. also as the two County's are close to one another on the Border. <Grin> If I Had A line on A James ( W.)MARTIN I would Know were To Start ! What I Have is ( ONLY ) JANE W. MARTIN I have Found at least 4 Jane Martins in Georgia, TN. , AR.and NC. all about the same time with no less than 3 JAMES , if I turn up any more I think I will Pull My Hair out ! It seams that MARTIN'S were either very Prolific or they Moved around a Lot. and in a Short period of time, I was even thinking that as a family if they were Traveling Preachers then that might explain it. In each of MY Family Tree Limbs ( 2 ) In one I have Both a Sr & a Jr. JAMES and in My Grandfathers there was another James. that Died with out Issue. and that is were the JAMES in my Family Stopped to My Knowledge. I'm looking for any information on Hartwell Martin, b abt 1770, died aft 1825, KY. He married Margaret Skaggs and had the following children: Sarah, Mary, Martin, July, Betsy, Henry, William, Jane, and Hartwell Jr, b at 1816. Most of my information came from probate of Hartwell's will. Anyone researching this family?
Does anyone have any information on the following: Martins in Wisconsin: Giles (Giley), Delilah (Lyle), Eugene (Gene), Annetta (Ette), Andrew (Andy), and Eva (Evie). Two other children, Albert Lincoln Martin, b.1860, died two years later and Alva, born 1872, died at eleven months. Thank you. Colleen
Someone is selling a book on ebay about Martins living in Cleveland, OHIO descendants of Thomas Martin 1810 -1859. Not my Martins. To find it go to ebay and put in #1508066177. It has pictures. It is ending in 9 hours but you can probably write to the seller if it hasn't sold.
HGello Martin's and Riley's. I have some imfo and a prized possesion of a 1855 time period with these names in it. I got at a antique store in Oliver , B C Cananda in 1978. I have just unpacked a number of Genealogy items I couldn't see get bashed and bought hoping to find some direct line descendant with genealogy otherwise in this item. I know that a direct descend would love to have this of a prob grt grt grt grt ( or some grt) granfather that lived in Whetstone, Liecestershire, England in early 1800's. There are martin's and Riley that have mar each other in early 1800's here. Contact me by my E Mail and send me your names with birth dates and places so I can determine a descendant for this item. Janet, I don't know what the "W" stands for. It could be William. We have located him in Oklahoma in 1920, but as of this date we have not been able to find a death date, obituary, or cemetery grave marker dates to learn more. Do you have a James W. Vickie, I don't think we connect--at least not at this time. Your names do not show up in our records. Siblings to our James W. Martin* are: Mary E. Martin, born 19 March 1840 in Bedford County, TN John Marion Martin, born 1843 in TN America Jane Martin, born April 1851 in AR or TX James W. Martin, born July 1856 in AR* Thomas Josephus Martin, born 2 October 1859 in AR Eliza Isabelle Martin, born 21 July 1861 in Moody, Howell County, MO Robert E. Lee Martin, born 26 Jan 1864 in Moody, Howell County, MO Father to all: Rev. Harvey Zadoc Martin Mother: possibly Rebecca Bates. There was some information given that Rebecca was Robert E. Lee's mother but not John Marion's mother. Since there is a large gap in years, it is possible that Zadoc was married twice, but we have found no information to prove that yet. The parents for Harvey Zadoc Martin are unknown at this time. The census records say they were born in SC. That is about all we know about this brick wall. If you learn anything that connect, let us know. Thanks for replying.
