Hi We are looking for a Sophronie Martin who was marrie to a John Martin had sons John and Robert They were from Georgia and Alabama Any Help appreciated Alice
I am new to this mailing list. I am trying to find information on my 3rd great grandfather William B. Martin (born abt. 1801). The 1860 Russell County, AL census lists his place of birth as Virginia and the 1870 Russell County, AL census lists his place of birth as North Carolina. The 1860 census lists his wife as Gracella A. Martin and 1870 gives the wife's name as Georgiana. William died before 1880 where his wife is listed as G.A. Martin - widowed. They had the following children. Ulysses Lewis (b. 1839), Espnea? (F), William A., Martha H., Mary, and Joseph. Ulysses Lewis Martin married Sophronia Kendrick and had children named James, Nellie, Lissie, and Bettie. Bettie (Aug. 22, 1870-Aug. 28, 1949) married George William Jones a Methodist minister and they are both buried in Louisville, Alabama. Nellie Martin married Agnew Stapleton and had children Earle, Sue, Francis, Buck, Carolyn, and Nell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Doubt if this is any help....but, I have a Sophronia Eva West M. William Peoples Martin. She is from NC and he from KY. They had John, Thomas, Sophronia, Molly, Samual, Elizabeth and William. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Goodson1959@aol.com> To: <MARTIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2002 2:25 PM Subject: Re: [MARTIN-L] William Martin - Alabama > Hi > We are looking for a Sophronie Martin who was marrie to a John > Martin > had sons John and Robert > They were from Georgia and Alabama > Any Help appreciated > Alice > >

I am researching the life of my Grandfather Billy Joe Martin born about 1900. He was a logman for the Lone Star Oil Co., in Wichita Falls, Tx. He probably arrived in Wichita Falls about the time of the first oil boom of 1920. I believe he stayed there life-long. My father is Billy Joe Martin b. June 28, 1925 in Duncan, OK. His mother was Etta Keller b. 1907 in Duncan, OK. My father only saw his father once, in 1940 in Wichita Falls, at the Oil Co. office. My father died 1973. I would appreciate any help you can give me on the mystery man in my family tree. Lillian Kathleen Martin.

Hi, Hope someone can help..... I've found a record on FamilySearch.org, of a marriage between Thomas Martin and Elizabeth Slinker in Bedford Co, VA, on 8 Nov 1799. Elizabeth was the daughter of Christopher Slinker and Catherine/Katherine (mnu) Does anyone know anything further about this couple? I'm trying to trace back on my 4g-gf Thomas Martin, of early 19th century Hawkins Co, TN. He was married to an Elizabeth, and both were born in Virginia according to later census records on their children. Their first known son was born in 1801. Thanks in advance if you can share any of their information with me, Pat Cross Davis - Texas patdmom@aol.com Burke, Callis, Carrothers, Cross, Martin, Paul, Warren, Wolfe, Word
