Hello, Is there anyone out there researching or with knowledge of the MARTIN family from Wayne Co., NC? In particular, the family of Joseph Martin, b. abt. 1758 in France, d. 1835 in Wayne Co., NC. First wife unknown (possibly Charlotty Unk.), second wife Telitha Unk. His children were - at least: Listed in will: sons - Lewis, James, Council, Sylvester daughters - Clarkey (possibly a daughter-in-law), Telitha, and Silvia Not listed in will: son - Burwell, I believe Joseph to be my 5xgreatgrandfather. I am trying to find out which of his sons was the father of Benagy/Benajah/Benagee/Benagor who was born in 1820 Wayne Co., NC, d. 1893 in Hardeman Co., TN married Matilda Tulithy Wooten in Wayne Co., NC. They left NC in around 1843 for Tippah Co., MS, then on to Hardeman Co., TN, where they had 10 children. If you have any knowledge of this family, please contact me. This is a long time brick wall. Thanks, Lyn
Hi, I am seeking in Lettermore the connection of a MARTIN and JOYCE family in the mid-1860s. Patrick Martin married Mary Joyce and had four daughters. Their daughter, Mary Martin, was born in March 1865 in Lettermore, Galway, Ireland. Thank you. Carol Pittsburgh

Title: A Genealogy and History of the Kauffman-Coffman Families of North America 1584-1937 Including Brief Outlines of Allied Swiss and Palatine Families Who Were among the Pioneer Settlers in Lancaster and New York Counties of Pennsylvania from 1717 on; viz., Becker , Baer , Correll , Erisman , Fahs , Kuntz , Kneisley , Hershey , Hiestand , Meyers , Musselman , Neff , Martin , Ruby , Snavely , Shenk , Shirk , Sprenkle , Witmer, and Others. FYI: I found this old family history book on ebay that might interest someone that has ancestors in it. It states New York Co., Pa., according to the seller it is York Co. Once there is a bid, the sellers can't change what it reads. The url is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dllViewItem&category=2980&item=5571218477 Or you can go to ebay and search for item number 5571218477 I have bought several of their family histories from their store and they have helped me alot. Look in their store there are alot of old family histories and Lancaster Co., Pa. items that might help also. Hope it helps someone, Jamie
I keep telling everyone their names are Samuel Houston and Rebecca Bryant. Most all documentation I see calls him Huston/Houston and her Becky. So I ask again, Do you have any info on Huston and Becky BRYANT MARTIN Thanks -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Dear Peggy, My own MARTIN ancestry sounds much the same, but not the same names. My Martin ancestry starts in 1825 in Rockingham Co NC, then to Henderson Co TN. That particular county voted to side with the UNION cause, so my ancestor may well have fought on the Union side there. I don't have his military in for, because there are TOO many William M. Martin b. 1825 NC who are all in TN at the same time! The reason I replied to you, was because you knew the fact that your Martin ancestor founght on the UNION side, that might give you a clue as to WHICH county they lived in? And then from there you might find census records, land records, etc. My line ended up in Navarro Co TX as of 1878. Though I would add a little to my description of my MARTINs. My grandmother said they were mostly Irish, probably Scotch Irish. Samuel's son James Washington MARTIN was born 1844 in TN fought for the Union in the Civil War. Samuel Houston MARTIN, grandson of Samuel(1814) was born 1879 in TN and he played the Mandolin and led singings in the area. I understand he had a good voice. He also was a devoted fox hunter. Samuel's father was from NC and his mother was from TN. Anyone feel any kin to this description? -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. I would like to know the parents of Sarah (Sallie) Ann MARTIN b. 1846 Alabama. She died 1887 Mongtomery Co., TX and is buried in Willis Cemetery, Texas. She was married to John Frank HOOKS about 1867 in Alabama. They moved to Texas about 1872. Any help would be appreciated. Barbara
Linda, the person who made the offer didn't fulfill her promises and she is no longer a member of the Martin list. If you need Military or Pension records, order them from the NARA. They do not charge you if they find nothing on your ancestor. Military records are abut $17.50 and Pension files are $38.00 for the entire file and less if you don't want all of it.
