    3. Hello Richard, I have William MARSHALL born Newcastle on Tyne 1710 , son of mariner , William Marshal who was a Gunner , RN , and later married Christian HUTTON in 1729. They moved to the Isle of Wight and one of their sons , Elias , Ships Carpenter in the Royal Navy became Master Shipwright , HM Careening Yard , Halifax , Nova Scotia. Many of his family were seafarers , and several became Captains and Commanders ; some serving in the Battle of Trafalgar 1805. South Shields is close to Newcastle so maybe there is a connection. Happy to send you my working notes if you think it worthwhile.
