Hi Marilyn - I've just been busy being busy. Nothing in particular, raking lots of leaves, chasing the dogs and running around. That is not our Robert but I have been in contact with a descendant of Robert.. Robert that married Margaret Marshall - they moved to Green County Ohio along with John Jr and Eleanor Williams. By talking with him it is apparent that Robert was married once before his marriage to Margaret. Probably in Maryland/Virginia area. His oldest son, named John, was born before Robert moved to Ky. That explains why Robert, who was the oldest male child of John and Deborah doesn't appear on the Ky tithe lists as early as Mark. Mark must have come to Ky to get the lay of the land for the rest of the family. Some of Roberts children took the Oregon Trail and then went into California, about the time of the gold rush. I have a small tree up - not planning much fuss for Christmas - no grand kids to coo over. Will probably get together with others in the family. His grandfather, James Marshall, was a native of Washington County, Pa., and a man of great energy and force of character, and who became prominently identified with the agricultural and industrial interests of that section. He was a farmer by occupation." (Lee County, Iowa). Samuel T. was born about 1816. I am searching for the parents of Gilbert Marshall b abt 1767. So James would probably be born circa 1737ish. I would appreciate anything that might tie into this family. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
