(I would love an electronic copy if you have one,do you have a current email? ) It might explain why the enclave is so geographically tight. They thin out as you go south into Formby, and are almost non-existent by Ince Blundell and Crosby. The North Moels Family History Society has documented much of the Marshall genealogy from the Parish Records. (contact jennie.gregson@zetnet.co.uk). This hints that the family you show for the early 18800s are most likely the children of Thomas & Elizabeth (Betty) Marshall of Birkdale. I have an interest in that I have a Catherine Marshall who lived in Ince Blundell and had 4 children by different fathers in the late 1810s and early 1820s. This is right at the southern end of the reach of the Marshall families, and there are none in the village by the 1841 Census. Unfortunately I can't find her family. There is a Catherine born in the Formby area in the late 1700s but I can follow her through marriage to her death. Prior to that there was a Catherine b 1766 in Birkdale but I think she would be too old to be the same person as mine in Ince Blundell. Have you seen any other Catherines who appear to have vanished off the scene, and might fit the bill ?
