Barbara, I've gotta figure your Benjamin is probably a son. I only have Robert, but based on the fact that my Benjamin lived to age 63 and Phoebe was still alive in 1850, they would most likely have had more children. Robert was born in St. George in 1794. I have been trying to make this connection for years but have no proof. My Benjamin, called Benjamin "3rd" married Hannah Williamson about 1818 in possibly St George, Maine. They are both buried in the Hathorne Cemetery in Cushing Maine. There is a web site which says my Benjamin and your Robert were brothers. But I don't have documentation. Do any of you have documentation that they were brothers? That my Benjamin is the son of the Benjamin who married Phoebe Young? Dates, names and places seem to fit though. I have heard that my Benjamin has pension papers "somewhere". If this is true I would like to know where they are to be found. Perhaps they could shed some light on your Robert's parents as well.
