James was born in the then British Honduras (now Belize) in 1888 where his father was a timber merchant. He was at school at Dollar in Scotland. He first emigrated to Canada and may have served in the Canadian Artillery in WW1. In 1919 James & Lilian were naturalised as US Citizens. James was known to have worked with Anglo-South American Bank in New York in 1923. And it is possible that he died in New York in September 1962. James seems to be the last of an interesting line of Marshall's within our family. So any info re any descendents would also be welcome.
