    3. Dear Joan, My husband's father was from Iowa. We are not sure where they settled when they arrived in the US. What we do know is that Joshua Marshall was born near Cincinnati around 1820. Who and where his parents came from we do not know. He married Emily McFarland who was from Canada. they settled in Will Co. Ill. Joshua and his son George died in the Civil War ---both in the Union Army and both of illnesses. Emily then moved to Iowa. John Marshall married Rachel Stigall and they had a daughter Laura there is no record of her husband, Charles Elmer was my husband father and he had siblings no father listed on the birth records of any of them. Later Laura married a Jacobs. Does any of this connect to your family? 3. No, it does not match my info, but who knows whether there's a connection or not. Thanks for your response Joan Duane W. Marshall wrote: >Dear Joan, > >My husband's father was from Iowa. 3. I don't remember if I responded previously or not. Benjamin Marshall moved to IA in 1839 from either OH or PA. He married Malinda Wright in IA. Malinda was born in OH. Benjamin and his wife Malinda had Hannah, Mary, Martha, Elvira, Thomas, William, Benjamin, Laura born 1857. Laura married James Gregory and had Emma (my paternal grandmother), Clyde, Thomas and Hurley. So I don't know if there is a connection or not. Sometimes, if they're cousins, it's hard to tie down until you find the entire family. Joan Earnshaw Duane W. Marshall wrote: >Dear Joan, > >My husband's father was from Iowa.
