Hi Betty, Just saw your posting on the Marshall List. Cannot offer much, but wanted to say, I am a descendant of the Samuel Marshall and wife Fanny you posted in this e-mail. Fanny's maiden name was Hazelrigg. I have been trying to track all these Marshall's down that lived close to one another, hoping I can learn who their parents were, as I haven't a clue who my Samuel Marshall's parents were. There was an Aaron Marshall who also lived in these counties you have listed. His parents were Col. John Marshall and Eliza Ferrell/Ferral/Ferrill, etc. of Westmoreland Co., VA. and when 10 years old his parents came to what is now Washington Co., PA. and he married Sarah Snowden. This Sarah's brother David married Nancy Hazelrigg, a first cousin to Fanny (Hazelrigg) Marshall, so they surely knew one another. This David Snowden and his future wifes father James Hazelrigg and her brother Joshua Hazelrigg, all fought in the Rev. War and lived in the area of Ft. Redstone (Fayette Co., I believe), which back then covered some of the area which is now Washington Co., if I read my evolving maps correctly. I understand it has not been proven that James & Nancy (Agnew) Marshall, had a son William, b. ca. 1770 PA. and was marrried to Mary (Polly) Campbell, but I do know this William died 5 Oct. 1807 in Adams Co., OH., which is where my 4th great grandfather first made a stop for a couple of years when he left Wash. Co., PA. and before he moved next door to Scioto Co., OH. in 1797 I think it was. This James also named a son Samuel, and curious if for a brother, such as my Samuel Marshall. Hope this helps someone and would love to correspond with anyone who has any further information to help tie this all in or connected to my Samuel Marshall & wife Fanny Hazelrigg, d/o William & Jemima ( ? ) Hazelrigg, of Westmoreland Co. and Pr.
