Hi List, I've collected a fair amount of Marshall material searching for my Samuel Marshall, b. ca. 1750 (some say Cumberland Co., PA., in the Rev. War under Capt. David Marshall, but proved this is not so, that was a different Samuel Marshall so not sure where my Samuel was born), married Frances Hazrigg ca. 1772 where?, d/o William & Jemima ( ? ) Hazelrigg, of Westmoreland & Pr. William Co., VA. They were in Washington Co., PA. and later Ohio Co., (W)VA., before migtaing to Adamd Co., then permenantly in Scioto Co., OH. in the late 1790's. The following may be of help to someone: Taken from "West Virginians In The Revolution"........... MARSHEL (MARSHALL), James, (Colonel) Born, Ireland in 1753. Removed some time between 1776 and 1778 to what is now Washington Co., PA., and bought up large amounts of land in Cross Creek Township. Upon the organization of Washington Co., was appointed (1781) county lieutenant, which office he held three years. He was sheriff, 1784 to 1789, member of the Legislature, and recorder of the land office. He later removed to Brooke Co., VA., where he ded in 1829. Judi
