All that I have been able to learn is that he was issued a land warrant for service in the War of 1812 as a private In Captain Browns Company Fourth Regiment Kentucky Militia. The warrant was used to obtain land in Illinois by my 2ggrandfather James Marshall who died in the Civil War and was married to Mary Jane Mortis and had one son Alvin Emmitt. I have several thousand of his descendants and cousins. He is Martin Marshall's son by his first wife, but I do not know who his mother was. That remains a mystery.
