Pisgah Church is nearby. Thos. Marshall taught there. It was the first school of higher learning west of the Alleghenies and the forerunner to Transylvania College in Lexington. I have pictures of that too. My friend descends through Humphrey Marshall. I helped her with her DAR papers, which is the reason I have a fair amount of knowledge of the Marshall's. Cheers, Laura
