Sorry I don't think these families match. Joshua Marshall was born we believe near Cincinnati about 1820. He married Emily McFarland in Canada and ended up living in Will Co Il . He died in the Civil War and his wife and children moved to IA. John Marshall and Rachael Stigall were the parents of Laura Marshall ---my husband's grandmother. We have not been able to find a record of his grandfather in Lucas Co IA. His father once said that they were part Indian and we have always wondered if his grandfather had an Indian heritage. I would like to go to the Chariatan area and search records and cemeteries. Sorry I could not be of help.
