    3. What about a child that was adopted out by yourself and then you married the father later on and have more children who are blood relatives.? The adopted child has a different surname so how do you put him into the family tree. If you put adopted it looks as though he was adopted into the family and is not in the blood line. -------Original Message------- From: jonrhy@yahoo.com; marshall@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, 24 November 2007 5:28:07 p.m. To: marshall-l@rootsweb.com Subject: [MARSHALL] In name only? Is an adopted child to be included in a family genealogy? He has not a drop of the family's blood line, yet he does have the family's name. How do you handle that? 3. I was going to just del this massage. I have had all kind of e-mail about adoption this morning. Don't know how I got into this mess, but someone was kind enough to drag me into it. I have an adopted brother and sister. I also adopted a child. They are family!! The family history is part of their history. Your blood run in the child that was given up for adoption. They are part of the family. Your are still part of that child's history. I think the only people that understand adoption are the American Indians. You adopt someone into the family. They are family. No more questions. Simply make a note by the name. Besides the Marshall family is big enough to handle a few more. When the child was adopted they became part of the blood line. Check out Chief Justice Marshall and Chief Justice Thurgood Marshall. Where did that happen.
