I am searching for any info that you may have on my gg grandfather, Jesse W Marshall. He was, I beleive, born @ 1807 in N.C. with his father being born in Virginia. Jesse is shown to have married Nancy Elizabeth Campbell in Rutherford County 8/20/1839. My info also indicates that they had several childrenm Alfred or Alford A, Aveline Destrimony, Nancy Elizabeth, Benjamin, Ruth and Joseph. It looks like the family left N.C. and went first to S.C. where Alfred was born, then to Georgia where the rest were born. I have cencus records from the 1880 Georgia cencus showing the family living in Shoal Creek, White, Ga. in 1880. Also of interest is a record of a William Marshall/ Nancy McDaniel Marriage, also 8/20/1839 in Rutherford co N.C. Were Jesse and William brothers? I know that there are still a few Marshalls living in Rutherford County, do any of you have matching records? I would love to know who exactly Jesse's father and mother were.
