    1. Elizabeth Marshall
    2. I have been searching for my birth mother for 12 years. I did not learn that I was adopted until 1994 just before my 51st birthday. Unfortunately, my adoptive mother would only tell me the following before her death in 1996: I was born at Swedish Covenant Hospital on April 29, 1943 (That makes me 62 in a couple of weeks!). It was a private adoption and the attending physician was Dr. Robert Saunders. The attorney who handled the adoption was Paul Brandel. My mother said my birth mother's name was "Elizabeth Marshall". My daughter is an opera singer and my mother said that every time she heard her sing it reminded her of my birth mother because she, too, was a singer. She said the family was English and my birth father was a soldier. I believe she said my birth-Grandfather was a minister but I'm not sure about that fact. I did find a calendar book among my mother's things and it did say that the final papers for my adoption were recorded in May of 1943 in Cook County, IL. That's all I know. I have done some searches. I registered with the "International Soundex Reunion Registry" but I have never had one lead. Over the years I continually look through the "Marshall" registry but have uncovered nothing. When my mother told me I was adopted, the first person I thought of was my birth Mother. I simply wanted to tell her that I had a good life, was happy and healthy and that her grand daughter was a wonderful opera singer. I'm sure the information would be comforting to her. So, if any of you have anyone fitting this description, please reply. Thank you. Joy
