Evelyn M. Marshall, passed away October 12, 2007 in San Dimas, California. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 28, 1918 and moved to California in 1942. She was the widow of Thomas Marshall who died in 1982. She was employed by Walnut Valley Unified School District for 23 years and retired at age 65. She was a loving mother and is survived by her son, Rick Marshall, her daughter Valerie Cummings and many friends. Her generous wisdom and spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 311 Citrus Ave, West Covina. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Covina Hills. The woman in the photo is seated. She has her dark hair parted in the middle and drawn severely back. She is wearing a dark striped dress with a velvet collar lined with lace. The picture was taken in a photo studio. I have not been able to trace her in the census. I would like to connect her with a family member or family researcher. This couple had at least four children: 1) John MARSHALL, b. abt 1809 in Ulster (county unknown) 2) Margaret MARSHALL, b. abt 1821 in Garvaghy, Co. Down 3) James MARSHALL (my 3ggf), b. 22 Oct 1823 in Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire, Scotland 4) Ann MARSHALL, b. abt 1826 in Wigtown, Wigtownshire, Scotland As you can see, this family moved across the North Channel to Scotland in the early 1820s. Clement MARSHALL was the son of John MARSHALL and Ellen WATSON, about whom I have no further information. I do not know whether Clement MARSHALL had any siblings, but if so, it is conceivable that your James MARSHALL (b. abt 1827 in Co. Omagh) could have been the son of one of Clement's brothers. Guy I.
