I do have the birth certificate for him but am stumped on his grandparents. It is strange how many of that name were around and think it might be religion related. My John was raised Catholic but shunned that religion all his life after mistreatment by the nuns. Both his parents are supposed to be buried in ST. Columban's cemetery in Cornwall On. although I have not been there to find it yet. This family ended up in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario if that helps any and you find a common denominator. -----Original Message----- From: ealt117@aol.com Joe,Is your dna connected to the site at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~marshalldna/MarshallDNA1/index.htm I am interested in knowing how your Marshalls fit in to the others on that website. Thanks, Susan Hi, Yes, I am 81462 on the Marshall DNA site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~marshalldna/MarshallDNA1/participant_codes.htm I am in Group F which they say is "suddenly appearing". I am 5th gen American. Aaron/Aron Marshall/Marshel is my GGGG grandfather 174-50-1826? father supposed to be John Marshall/Marshel and mother Eliza Ferrel I have charts about the dna on this site. It is totally different than the "Justice John" dna. I have an additional dna marker set ordered and when those numbers are pretty much the same it will confirm all of this info. This site is based on family group F http://www.chipster.us/AaronMarshallDNAline/default.htm long way-----If you click on? Marshall (361) then click on Aaron Marshall (b. 1740) then click the little tree you should open a big chart that you can move around and see everyone on one? chart. I have compiled info from all the trees from various sites and people who sent me trees. It shows all the numbers and some ends of trees were private, however they did have ancestors who were not private. There are lots of notes on this chart. you might also be able to click this to see just the chart http://www.chipster.us/AaronMarshallDNAline/genomaps/genomap0.htm?x=3430,y=90,highlight=true Tying it all together is also hard because the area was in chaos, was part of PA and VA and different counties at the same time. If I can find a decendant of Col. James and I match dna like the others it at least proves James is related. I hope any of you will work with me on this if you have info to add. I can't do it alone and hope we can network to figure out this puzzle. I have a friend who is going to the Washington Co. CH next week to look for stuff like land records and wills. I am looking for someone in Wheeling W VA who can look since I founf that Ohio County records are supposed to be there. Ohio Co W VA was also Washington Co PA at the same time. Before that it was a larger county, Westmoreland PA. This is an important fact overlooked in the past. Hancock and Brooke came from Ohio CO I put lots of maps on my site too to help understand the borders. Please let me know if these links do not work for you. ty for any help Joe Marshall __________________________________________ Joe Marshall wrote: James is some relative of my Aaron Marshel/Marshall, possibly his brother also have dna info on this site and I have ordered an upgraded dna marker set to get further.
