Marren, Jr. My grandfather, Thomas Patrick Marren was born in Sligo and immigrated here to the United States in 1917. His immigration papers state that he was a subject of Great Britain. His daughter, my aunt, would recount that her father, Thomas Patrick Marren, while in England was impressed into the British Navy. His sister provided him with a suit of clothes and a ticket to the USA. He arrived in New York (age 36) and lived on Dean Street. My understanding is that he started and developed a very profitable saloon business; lost it and then started another only to lose this one to Prohibition. Thomas Patrick Marren had 3 sons: Thomas, Thaddeus, John and one daughter named Mary who are now all deceased. The family lived on 9th Street in Brooklyn, called the Park Slope district and were members of Saint Saviours Parish. I'm trying to discover the maiden name of my grandmother, Thomas' wife. Can anyone help? Thank you! Jack Marren Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
