Author: patty49er1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.marlin/407/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for information about the death, and perhaps location of the grave site, of my great-grandfather, James Henry Marlin, AKA Henry Marlin. I know he was born in 1889 in Tennessee, possibly Williamson County, where many other of my Marlin relatives lived. The last record where I have found him for sure was in the 1910 US Census, where he was living in Granite Township, in Greer County, Oklahoma. He was with his wife, listed as Sarah in the record, but whose real name was Sallie (Evans), and their daughter, Lourina (my grandmother), whose real name was Lorene. He must have died between 1912ish and when the 1920 census was taken, because Sallie Marlin was living with her two daughters (Lorene was ten and Flossie was eight) in her mother's home in Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma. I do not know if Henry Marlin died in World War I or in some other way, but he did die a young man. I have not been able to locate any information about his death at all, and this has bothe! red me for a long time. Any help that I can get would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am somewhat confused on George W Marlin's wives & children, as further research shows the order of marriages reversed and more children. Thanks for any info/light you can shed on this. 2. Shawn Many researchers are waiting to locate the parents of Archibald Marlin who is buried at City Cemetery in Nashville. He was with my ancestor William McWhirter and wife Elizabeth Ferrier, and Thomas Ferrier in Logan county, Ky. and in Tennessee. It has been a brick wall for many years. Logan County Records The indians, numbering 10,000 within a 200 mile radius of Nashborough, continued firing upon the settlers causing numerous deaths and burning their homesteads which made life very precarious on the Cumberland frontier. A year after signing of the Comberland Compact, only about one-forth of settlers remained. More than fifty had been killed and with their crops destroyed, their cattle killed and their food and gunpowder nearly depleted, the rest left for safer quarters in Kentucky. The following court record in Logan Co.
