Hi all, I have an elusive ancestor, my gg grandmother Mary Markham and am wondering if anyone on the list has this particular lady in their family tree. Mary married Charles Sydney Dobbyn on 27 Jan 1885 in Shetland Ontario Canada, according to the Bothwell Times of February 1885. She gave birth to three children in Melita Manitoba Canada: Charles Stafford Dobbyn born in Apr 1886, John Francis Dobbyn born in Sep 1887 and Bruce Wycliffe Laird Dobbyn born in Aug 1889. She died in March of 1891 in Melita, presumably at the age of 29 and at the birth of her fourth child, a breach. A Dobbyn relative believes that she was born in Euphemia Twsp in Ontario about 1862. In research that I've done so far, Mary doesn't appear in the 1871 Ontario census, nor does she show up in the Euphemia area in the 1881 census, leaving me to suspect that maybe her family moved around or maybe she was born elsewhere - possibly Scotland as the family has been told she was a red-headed Douglas Scot.
