There appears to be adequate interest in the Markham's who lived in Alexandria. I spent several years there and went back for a visit a year ago and they have a lovely and a very huge new library. I have e-mailed to see if there is a genealogist there. Alexandria is a city without a county as are several other cities in Virginia. Arlington is Arlington Co. Also.....I have a breakdown, or a 'genealogy' of the counties of Virginia. I have tried to scan it, but it won't scan. If anyone is interested in getting copies of it, I can run it off and if anyone would like a copy they can let me know via USPS, send a SASE and I will send them a copy of what I have. Let me know if there is any interest in this. http://www.alexandria.lib.va.us/
Jeanne, Am interested in your "genealogy" of VA counties. Need: 1. snail mail address 2. size of return envelope 3. amount of postage needed. I'd be interested. Please let me know how much postage, size envelope, and your address, and cost to copy.
