I was looking in the 1840 Gallatin Co. Ky Census and I found Alvander Fran. Markham. I have a sneaking feeling this is my same Anderson in 1880. Anderson married Ruth Swango in 1839 in Gallatin Co. and Alvander is listed in the same township as Anderson was later in years. Does anyone recognize Alvander or Anderson? He was born in 1819 in Alabama. His father was born in Va. According to 1880 Census Records this is how Anderson is listed: Anderson Markham 61 Ala Ruth 50 Amie 25 John S. 22 Frankie (step-daughter) 14 Lucinda (granddaughter) 8 William A. (grandson) 6 Noga (granddaughter) 5 Ben. F. 2 The William A. age 5 that is listed is my husbands ggrandfather. If anyone knows of this line please contact me, I have been on this for 3 years and tonight I realized that I may have found Andersons true name. Thanks, Lisa Marcum
