Mye Goodye Cosynes, A startling new chapter in "TW" is now in the making !!!. This new chapter now falls under Capt. Columbus' section of "TW", in "A PLACE I CALL HOME". The section here is very new and still requires the write-ups for each picture etc. There should be many many pictures added here in time. Capt. Columbus lives up in the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia. The purpose of these chapters is to show the areas where Markhams (and particularly early settler Markhams) have settled, their culture (if any), tongue, and way of life. It will also show Markham genealogical information and historical photos of these places, such as graves and monuments etc. "The Wanderer": "A PLACE I CALL HOME": http://members.xoom.com/kenmarkham/menuhtml.html DIRECT LINK: http://members.xoom.com/kenmarkham/colindex.html All photos will be unedited, and taken with a Sony Mavica Digital Camera, at a resolution of 640 x 480 x 16M. This is one of the better digital cameras out at the moment. The same camera is used in my own "TW" chapters too. It can also record MPEG movies up to 1min, and sound, and places all files straight on to a 1.44 stiffy disk. All picture files are saved in JPEG format. Quite nice !!!. One stiffy disk will take about 18 pictures at above resolution. It also uses the colour LCD screen at the back of the camera to point and click for a photo. A great camera if you are looking for one. This section already contains a photo of the headstone of Josiah Marcum's grave. I have requested further pictures to be taken of this site and grave etc. For most of us, whilst many would take such a picture for granted, people like myself, just simply have never seen these pictures, and hopefully the pictorial content of "TW" will be one of its strongest features. These pictures are taken by Markhams for Markhams, and are original and recent. "The Wanderers" will all be given the opportunity at some point to add their own chapter - "A PLACE I CALL HOME". My own chapter can be found here: "The Wanderer": "ENCYCLOPAEDIA iAFRICA - A PLACE I CALL HOME": http://members.xoom.com/kenmarkham/menuhtml.html DIRECT LINK: http://members.xoom.com/kenmarkham/zim/home.html Well, I am glad you have now stopped praying for rain in Africa, maybe you could pray for a better R/$ exchange rate ?. Yours Sincerely, Capt. Columbus & Super Ken... [Phenomenal Researchers In The Mists Of Time]
