I have acquired a book titled "Confederate Dead, Rock Island Illinois". It shows to be compiled in the Office of the Commissioner for Marking Graves of Confederate Dead. War Department, 1912. No further information. In it is listed; MARKHAM, Samuel, Pvt. Company I (eye), Regiment 44 Tenn. died Apr. 5, 1864, Number 994, buried in Confederate Cemetery.
