    3. Dear Michael I saw your post re Abiud Sewell line, and wonder if you have information on the following: 1. I have Samuel b. ca. 1750-1760 as being the son of a John, and that John and his brother William moved to NC from Caroline County, VA in abt 1764. But I had not heard of Richard. Do you have Richard's father to be John, and his mother to be named ?Almond? 2. Is your Nancy Graves the wife of Samuel born 1785(I have Samuel's wife as Nancy?), or could you be referring to Nancy Marcom, daughter of Samuel's second wife Ave Young?, Or is this yet another Nancy. 3. My family legend has it that John and William were the sons of William and Elizabeth Marcom of Middlesex Parish, VA--but cannot be sure of this. Do you have anything on it out of Virginia? There are several court records re the troubles of a William Marcum in the Caroline County, buty so far I can't prove that these brothers were from Middlesex. If you have anything on these questions, I'd much appreciate hearing from you. George W. Mrcom, M. 3. Dear Patricia, I am descended through Richard Marcom (b. 1750 Caroline Co., VA d. 20 Aug 1829 Orange Co., NC), brother to your Samuel, on my Marcom line but also have a Graves line. I am interested in additional information on your Nancy Graves. I had her in my data base, but did not know her maiden name until I saw your post today. Could you please send me her b., d.,m. info. Do you know who her parents were? My Isaac Lee Graves b. 1 Nov 1810 NC d. 1894 buried in Graves Cemetery in Perry Co., TN. It is believed that he moved probably from Caswell Co., NC to Maury Co., TN at a very early age about 1820. He moved to Perry County, TN about 1845 per land grant. Also interesting to me is that your Sarah ? was from Overton Co., TN? I live in Overton Co., TN and while I am a transplant from West TN and have not discovered any lines of my own here, I am very involved with the local genealogists in Overton Co., TN. I would be happy to check with some of them on your Sarah if you could let me know what you have on her. Just a thought. I know how difficult the maternal lines can be. My Richard Marcom had a daughter, Nancy b. 26 Apr 1790 d. 1872 m. Wiley Roberts 15 Feb 1812, who had a daughter Martha Ann Roberts b. 1818 Orange Co., NC d. 1 Feb 1892 Exeter NC. Martha Ann Roberts and John Butler Workman are on the 1850 Census for Overton Co., TN. Their daughter, Nancy Caroline Workman, b. 9 Apr 1849 Overton Co., TN d. 10 Apr 1938 Los Angeles, CA. My Elizabeth Marcom's(b.20 Aug 1784 Orange Co., NC d. 1820 Orange Co., NC) husband Daniel Holder(b. 1780 d. aft.1850 Gibson Co., TN) moved to Gibson Co., TN. 3. I did send my condolescenses over the death of one of the Markham's sister. If that caused the rude letter that showed up on my e-mail and the rest of the groups, I truly apologize to the rest of the group. I have no idea of a dispute, but that's the only thing I remember doing....No disputes showed up on my computer that I remember. By accident once, I sent a prayer request letter to a group I was on...I'd intended sending it to my brother, and his e-mail was a letter different from the group...did I get "screamed" at from the lostowner. Needless to say, I deleted myself from that group. Sometimes I hope that I'm not related to the listowners that do this.----- Original Message ----- Karen From: "kat" <scizwiz1@home.com> To: <MARKHAM-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2000 1:53 PM Subject: Re: Personal E-mails > Brenda, > Shouldn't this message have been sent privately to those folks you felt > were creating a problem? > Personally, I do not appreciate having a "scream letter" sent to my > email either.... particularly when I have no idea what you're talking about. > -Kat- > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <BMarble@aol.com> > To: <MARKHAM-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2000 1:12 AM > Subject: Personal E-mails > > > > I don't know if I'm missing something but it appears that a possible > dispute > > that is unrelated to Markham genealogy is brewing on this list. 1. [MARKHAM] God Bless Brenda
    2. I have not been a frequent participator on this list, but I have gained a great amount of information from viewing. Time management is a big problem in my life. In my "newbie days" Elliot (from Massachusetts I think) e-mailed me 19 pages of family information. Needless to say I was ecstatic and overjoyed. It is sad that one element of an entity can upset the unity of the positive whole. Brenda, I am glad that you were able to maintain this list for such a long time. I hope that you can dry your tears as we dry our tears and know that you are loved and appreciated by many. I will trust your judgment as you pass this stewardship on to one who will continue to uphold the fine work that you began. Best wishes and God Bless You. Sarah

I have continued to monitor, but seem to have reached a dead end. We even went to Ireland a couple of years ago, and could not ascertain anything. I'm not very experienced and had very little time. Of course, there are so MANY John Markhams that you might be referring to a different one. In any case, best of luck.
