I see Newcastle (389,000 people in my 1989 Hammond atlas) on the coast of New South Wales north of Sydney, so it's big enough that all should be able to find it on maps. I am not keeper of any Mbanks databases. You need to subscribe to Marjoribanks-L (if you aren't), & ask them. If you are subscribed, please write the list immediately so the subscribers know if they can email you via the list. The list saves the post to a searchable archives, so it is preferable to talk via the list. The subscribers (the list) are the expert (not an individual) & when you subscribe, you will be our expert on your branch. (Actually we have some very expert people subscribed, but I was trying to be egalitarian (well actually I was trying to make out like you just have to subscribe -- trying to give the list great importance.). <grin>) Lists predate the web. Subscribing is free of costs. To subscribe, email the server (Marjoribanks-L-Request@RootsWeb.Com) & put subscribe in the subject &/or message & it will add the address from which you wrote, to the list of subscribers & send a welcome message with info on functionality to that address. In your next email I look forward to hearing more of your husband's lineage. If he wants his lineage added to the subscribers lineages which are at: http://Genealogy.Org/~green/Mbanks/linemarc.html duplicated at: http://members.FortuneCity.Com/jgreen/Mbanks/linemarc.html then subscribe and send the data to the list in a format (style) approximating what you see on that page & I will add his address & lineage to the page. You might want to check that page to see if you see anyone that might be kin. Note the link at the bottom will take you to a page leading to other Marjoribanks lineages. As to your 3 children, I recommend the Scottish Games. There should be some near you and we need clan tents at the games. To find games near you, see http://www.maclachlans.org/nfgames.html It shows the location of games for the whole planet. The games give you a place to wear your pewter clan badge & kilt. I guess you saw we just created a tartan. -- James W.
