Dear List Members, An interesting new website was forwarded to me that is a "universal register of all the world's genealogical resources, whether Net-based or not, and whether free or fee-paying." I tested the site with a couple of surnames and got impressive results. Kathy -----Original Message----- There is a new website that has a nice idea - it takes Gen info from many different web sites and then combines/ recombines the data into a nice structered 11 column line chart, allowing 20 families to be combined on a single screen/ page for a quick assessment of whether/which of the 20 families is one you wish to examine, see unstructered page below. Any surname is avail by simply going to the website (http://www.geneanet.org/) and entering a search for whatever surname you wish. The email address for each family is also included w/each Surname (1st Col) for your follow up. There is one feature of mixed blessing - there appears to be a non-US preference or bias of the database. That is good because there is less duplication w/, for example, RootsWeb databases, but also suggesting this database may not yet be fully activated - still, w/559 'Hits' for my surname, the potential is there. There is some duplication also.
