Hello I attended a couple of day long workshops your society had several years ago in Novato. I met a member of your group by the name of Joy (and I can't remember her last name), who was researching a Dawson family in Oregon. I am also searching a Dawson family in Oregon. At the time, Joy and I compared notes and thought it was a coincidence, but not the same family. Now that I have found some more info about the family, I am thinking maybe it is the same family. I found one line (female) going back to 1300 in Wales...but is it my Dawson family, hers or ours? My Dawson family was husband John, wife Rachel - they married in Missouri and came to Jackson County, Oregon about 1850. They had 7 children. The other Dawson family was also John and Rachel, married in Missouri, came to Jackson County, Oregon about 1847 and had 7 children. Four of the seven children in each family share the same names...Levi, Julia Ann, Eveline, and Thomas. So, where there really two Dawson families? Since some of my paper work and notes got lost when I moved, I don't have Joy's address or phone number, but I was hoping she was a member of this list.
