Joanne Rowlands and I figured out the cost per member for the KinTracer--this is ball park as we were remembering figures. I was not in front of my computer. This is what started the discussion in the board meeting about digitizing the KinTracer. It costs the society about $30 dollars per year per member just for the KinTracer. This does not include $100 per year for mailing the newsletter to members who prefer hard copies; $50-$75 for each speaker who visits us from outside our society; copy costs for handouts; office supplies, etc. We run a really lean organization. To further complicate the KinTracer mailing--bulk mail requires 200 pieces but we have less than 150 pieces. We still get charged for 200. Another board member is checking the cost of other types of mailing for the KinTracer. The biggest help to MCGS would be more members. We have lost about 100 members since 2000, if I am remembering my figures correctly.
