    1. [MarinGenSoc] Breakfast at Star this Saturday
    2. It has to be an April Fool joke, of course, but the entire article (not reproduced here) is pretty funny. And wouldn't it be a kick if it were true? We can talk about it over breakfast Saturday at Star restaurant in Novato - 9 a.m. Cathy _Ancestry.com announces Ancestry Séance_ (http://ancestryinsider.blogspot.com/2009/04/ancestrycom-announces-ancestry-seance.html) (http://lh4.ggpht.com/_mpUi75C5vC8/SdBCbn3FCkI/AAAAAAAAA50/_FCSVIsB_Q4/s1600-h/seance2[6].png) This first day of April, Ancestry.com announced yet another new service to help members investigate their family history: Ancestry Séance. According to company president, Tim Sullivan, There comes a time in each genealogist's research when ancestral lines hit a dead end. Sometimes it seems an ancestor simply popped into existence. Or available records dry up. What genealogist hasn't thought to themselves, "If I could only talk to this person, I know what I would ask." With Ancestry Séance, now you can! Ancestry Séance is a service that allows customers to pose a question to an ancestor and get an actual answer back, usually within 48 hours. 3. Hey...well... this combined with Gmail's new CAIDE program, announced April 1, that reads and replies to your email, inserting the appropriate level of typos, tone, brevity (or lack there of!) allowing that we never need personally read or reply to email ever again, it would seem all of our Genealogical work will be completed by the weekend. That would mean we could discuss other things at Breakfast rather than elusive dead relatives! lol.. yeah... right.. .like that would EVER happen! It will be a rare occasion, indeed, for me to join in at the breakfasts any longer. I have sold my house in Novato (deal finalized 3/27) and am looking to purchase in Roseville. Have a great time Saturday. I shall miss our lively discussions. Please say hi to our faithful waitresses for me and .... someone order the Star Protein Plate. :) I will be down in the Marin/ Sonoma area at least twice in the next month or so to repeat my lecture on DNA and Genetic Genealogy.
