Dear Members, Starting out in genealogy, I assumed that you focussed on birth, marriage and death records and the rest would fall into place . . . wrong! Then I hit my first brick wall and realized that there must be more to it. This Wednesday Barbara Leak will shed light on a different and promising source--land records. I wasn't fully convinced until I noted in the May newsletter, "And in case you're not convinced of their value, a case study demonstrates how land records can be key to unlocking genealogical information when you learn to recognize what records imply, as well as the stated facts."
