Hoosiers! My grandparents were married almost 71 years when my grandfather died last spring. I asked my grandma about it several years ago--when I figured out they were 16 and 17 when they got married-- and she replied they were too young to have any sense. She has three great-great grandchildren now too. She's seen the grandchildren of her grandchildren be born. Amazing to me.Thanks for sharing the article, Cathy. --- On Sun, 1/17/10, cylgowdy@aol.com <cylgowdy@aol.com> wrote: From: cylgowdy@aol.com <cylgowdy@aol.com> Subject: [MarinGenSoc] news item To: MarinGenSoc@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, January 17, 2010, 1:22 PM This really blew me away! I don't know anybody today who can say they were married this long, to the same person, of course, let alone back in 1895. Hanford Journal Hanford, Kings Co., CA 16 Apr. 1895 THE FATHER and mother of Dr. J.A. MOORE will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary the 24th of May, back in Indiana. The old couple are hearty and enjoying good health. It is not often that such a wedding anniversary is recorded.
