This is to let you know that something besides Kin Tracers has been placed in the premium content section of the Marin Genealogical Society's webpage. A section called Marin Military Records has been created and it contains the first WWI registration list for Marin men as it was published in the newspaper in 1917. Not every person listed saw service, but it was required that males of a certain age register. I hope that other military data bases will be created in the future. Another section is called Marin Fraternal Organizations. It currently features U.P.E.C. records for Sausalito, a data base created by Karen Hendricks to further her own personal genealogical research. This Portuguese fraternal organization served as both a social group and as a provider of life insurance for its members. Other fraternal groups served the same purpose and I hope records created by them will be made available at some point. The section dealing with naturalizations of Marin residents has been moved to this area as well. I hope those of you with Marin family will find these useful.
