She passed peacefully at home with family and friends beside her. Daughter of international economist Enrique Martinez Sobral and Maria Beteta de la Pena, Grace was born September 30, 1913 in New York City. Loving mother of Frank, Jack, and Licianna Teresa Kane; beloved grandmother of Erica, Max, Rachel, Darren, and Aurora Kane; beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend; she was a kind and gracious lady with a sense of humor that made everyone laugh. An RN graduate of the first College of Marin nursing program, Grace served the local community for more than 25 years. She loved entertaining seniors with her ukulele and costumed characters, and was a published poet. In her lifetime, she had tea with the Queen of England, rode camels, tap danced, met the Pope, and traveled the world. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A musical gathering for family and friends will be held in her honor on Sunday, June 24th, 6-9 p.! m., at the Alice Arts Center, 2nd Floor, Suite D, 1428 Alice St., in Oakland.
