Beloved wife of Gasper Gucciardi for over 66 years; devoted mother of Mary Musante and Patty Parrott; mother-in-law of Bob Musante and Steve Parrott; cherished grandmother of Ron, Ken (Marita) and Gary Musante, Rebecca (Sean) Higgs, Eric Owens, Lisa (Cameron) Rossman and Jill Parrott; adored great-grandmother of Madeleine and Elliott Musante and Kennedy Higgs; loving sister of the late Andrew, Sam and Phillip Aguanno; sister-in-law of Vitina, Antoinette and Phillipina Aguanno and Rosetta Gucciardi; and dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is survived by many friends whom she dearly loved. Beatrice was born in New York City July 22, 1910. Her family traveled to Sicily where she was raised in the small town of Vita and where they were forced to remain after WWI. At the age of 18, she returned to America with her older brother and resided in Brooklyn where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Gasper. She and Gasper lived in New York and Connecticut before settling in Burbank, California and they remained there for 31 years. In 1976, Beatrice retired from the clothing industry after 50 years and then moved to Novato to be closer to her daughters, Mary and Patty. She enjoyed being an active member of the Novato Senior Club, Catholic Daughters, Helping Hands, and the Italian Catholic Federation Branch #332. Beatrice will long be remembered for her warm hospitality and outstanding Sicilian cuisine; her life was a reflection of her faith in God and her undying devotion to her loving family and numerous friends. Family and friends may visit Wednesday, June 27, 2001 from 12 Noon to 8:00 p.m. at the ADOBE CREEK FUNERAL HOME, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma, and on Thursday, June 28, 2001 after 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 1806 Novato Blvd., Novato. An evening Vigil Service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Church. Family and friends are also invited to a celebration of her life at the Funeral Mass on Friday, June 29, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Team in Training, c/o Eric Owens, 109 San Mateo Way, Novato, CA 94945 or the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, 25 Bellam Blvd., San Rafael, CA 94901.
