Marin Independent Journal Thursday, June 14, 2001 Section C, page 2 MARGARET KELLY BOTTARI A Resident of San Rafael Who died June 10, 2001 in San Rafael, Calif. at age 82, regularly updated the list of people and causes she kept in her prayers. The list always grew longer, as befit a woman possessed of expansive empathy for family, friends, and those in need. Born October 10, 1918 in the City of Brotherly Love, Margaret Kelly graduated from Philadelphia's West High School, studied at the Wharton School of Business, and worked for RCA Records before marrying Oswaldo Bottari in 1948. As an Airforce family living around the U.S. and overseas, they raised five daughters - Marge, Rita, Anita, Patty and Mary. After Oswaldo's death in 1984, Margaret moved to San Rafael to be near the daughters she cherished, and to her great joy, son-in-law Simon and grandson Ian. She took up painting watercolors and Tai Chi, wrote poetry, read widely, decorated her home with photographs of those she loved, delighted in her faith and happily contributed to a long list of peace and social justice groups. Her deat! h was unexpected, but her life was a blessing, lived with grace, generosity of spirit and love. Services will be held at the church of Saint Isabella, 465 Freitas Pkwy., San Rafael, on Friday, June 15, at 2:00 p.m. Margaret Kelly Bottari adored flowers and they are welcome. Friends are also welcome to direct contributions to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society and Oxfam America. KEATON MORTUARY 1022 E Street San Rafael, CA 94901 (415) 453-0571
