MCGS General Meeting Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. Lutheran Church 1100 Las Gallinas San Rafael Marin County Genealogical Society will present Cal Boyd, who spoke to MCGS last fall in his capacity as clan genealogist for the Boyd Clan. Mr. Boyd has a new hat. He is now a Family History Consultant for Everton's Publishers. Everton's, you may recall, used to present day-long seminars. MCGS sponsored several. They are no longer using this venue to help genealogists and introduce their products. They are using a more individual approach -- the Family History Consultant. Cal will introduce us to the new, updated Everton's and give us some idea of how it compares with the other big guys in Genealogy: Heritage Quest, Genealogy.com, and Ancestry. As clan genealogist Cal receives many ineffectual queries. He will discuss with us the elements of good and bad queries, and we will each produce a productive query. He will explain a few of Everton's flagship products, and give us tips and tricks to keep confusion down and consistency up in our genealogical pursuits. HANDICAPPED ACCESS: After turning off Freitas Parkway onto Las Gallinas, take the first right turn onto Oleander. Take first left on Orange Blossom, a cul-de-sac.
