    1. [MarinGenSoc] revised interment log
    2. NEW and EXPANDED MT. TAMALPAIS CEMETERY INTERMENT LOG This book, originally compiled in 1993 and covering the years 1879 - March 1901, has been expanded to include all office records through 1930. That means the first 2551 burials. It is presented in two sections: the first is in chronological order and the second is an alphabetical listing of interments, eliminating the need for an index. Information given includes the name of the deceased, places of birth and death, dates of death and burial, cause of death, burial location within the cemetery, and occasional other notes. This book is priced at $16.95 plus postage, and tax if you are a California resident. ************** Know Your Numbers: Get tips and tools to help you improve your credit score. 1. [MarinGenSoc] January 28 Meeting
    2. Bill Bryant
    3. As we begin another year of researching our ancestors, we need to give some thought to who is going to carry on this effort long-term? After all, at some point we too become ancestors. With this in mind, MCGS is once again presenting our annual youth program of Family History Contest Winners, this Wednesday the 28th, at 7:30. Come and enjoy listening to future genealogists read their personal essays. If you can bring your recyclable cans and bottles, these will help defray MCGS operating expenses. Bill Bryant, Secretary

Some of you have asked how to leave a comment on the MCGS blog.   To leave comment on the MCGS blog, or any Google blog, follow these steps: 1.  IF you have a Google blogger account, go to step #3. 2.  IF you do NOT have a gmail e-mail account and/or a Google blogger account, you'll have to create one for yourself.  This is an easy process. 2. Gene Pennington
    3. Have you become a fan of genealogy blogs yet? They've become very popular as a quick and easy way to share your genealogy information, tips, suggestions and comments with other fans who share your hobby. I've discussed the idea of a MCGS blog with Cathy Gowdy who has shared my idea with the Board. To help us determine if the MCGS wants to have our own blog, I've started a test blog for the Marin County Genealogical Society at --> http://maringensoc.blogspot.com/ to help decide if a blog will be of value and interest to MCGS Members and other researchers. The blog has many features not available on our mail list. For example: - You can post a message (comment) in "html" format and you can add links within your message. - You can post a comment to any message. - Messages (comments) to each message are kept together so it's easy to follow a new message (comment). - You can post pictures and videos (limit in size). There are many other features of a blog so please test it out to see what you think. You can leave your comments about the new blog on the blog itself or you can send them directly to me at genepenn1@gmail.com. Those who are researching UK ancestors may be interested to know that the 1911 UK census is available on-line at http://www.1911census.co.uk/ The bad news is that it is pay-per-view through findmypast.com. The cheapest option costs 6.95 pound sterling for 60 credits. Each transcript needs 10 credits. Does anyone know whether the Family History Center has a subscription to this website? Vernon Smith
