    3. Hi Judith Not really the remit of this list as a passenger but for deaths at sea, there is a separate GRO index for same Much would depend upon where they died and whether the Captain reported it as he should have done (they should have in 1956, much earlier many were missed) They are available on findmypast (pay per view or subscriber) and also free on http://www.familyrelatives.com You need to register but not give cc details I had a quick look at the marine deaths and did not find a FREEMAN death in 1956, one in 1957 a John W age 49 ships name Chandler So how good is the information of a death on the Queen Mary in 1956? There are also consular returns, again some available on the above, in theory if at sea on a British Ship they should be registered in the marine returns but could they have been a passenger but died ashore? I would check all to see what if anything turns up Did they leave a will (ie are they recorded in the probate calendars on Ancestry?) There are 15 FREEMANs as passengers of the Queen Mary in 1956, have you checked those passenger lists? there should be a page for such events to be recorded and the Captain to sign, not all are available online but worth checking for I would say Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 29/09/2013 11:10, judith kennerdale wrote: > Good morning, can anyone tell me how I go about finding a death at sea (passenger named Freeman) Queen Mary c1956 please.
