    3. Hello C.V., Are you aware of "Lloyd's List", twice-weekly maritime newspaper? You can access it for free online and for 1825 and 1826 you will get several hits for her to help you recontruct her travels. (I used 'Butler' as my search term.)  On the front page of issue #6123, dated 9 June 1826 is: "                     Cape of Good Hope,                                March 23rd The Harmony, Butler, was totally wrecked in coming out of the Knyana on the 13th inst. Crew saved." There. That gives you a specific date. Here's the link: http://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/000549597 In the 1826 edition of Lloyd's Register of shipping, free online, she apears to be # 144 under the 'H" and that gives you a little information about her build. http://www.maritimearchives.co.uk/lloyds-register.htmlhttp:// FindMyPast (subscription/credits site) has a few hits for possible Richard Butler-s in their merchant seamen records e.g. there is one born 1788 in Whitby Yorkshire, another born 1806 in St. Dunmore and a third born 1808 in Dublin. Might be worthwhile buying a few credits there. Regards, Adi P.S. Erm ... if you write again, perhaps you will tell us your name. (Smile) it just seems a bit friendlier. >________________________________ > From: C. I try to know more about the last captain, Richard Butler, in 1825-1826. The ship wrecked mear South Africa, but it seems it came from London but I don't know if it's possible to find any information about crew and captain. > >Thank you in advance.  >                        > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > >
