Greetings Listers A cousin and I are stumped by the letters describing the occupation of a sailor in the family. It was found on Ancestry as a scan of a hand-written document of about 1860-1862. The sailor is F H Daniel, aged 21. His occupation looks to be either O I or maybe Q I. The entry above his was for the cook and the one below for the sailmaker - not sure if these are relevant to his place in the pecking order.
