    3. Technically, the allies were no longer at war except with the newly born Soviet Russia but, I agree, there was still some censorship. The Empress of Japan ran out of coal owing to bad weather and stranded near Yokohama more likely at low tide. However, the incident was minor and she succeeded in getting off without assistance. This has been shortly related in The Singapore Free Press And Mercantile Advertiser on january 7, 1919 following an information from The Japan Chronicle. I am looking after informations regarding her passengers. My Great Father was probably aboard.
