Rowan Blackman in "Ships of the East India Company" lists a a LADY BLACKWOOD, 263 tons bm, built at Calcutta in 1821 for Cockerill & Co. She was licensed by the HEIC under the system which existed after the Company lost its monopoly of trade to India in 1813. I have looked in Farrington's book 'Catalogue of EIC SHips Logs and Journals 1600-1834' and have not noticed the ship nor the captain mentioned. Any suggestions for further research would be gratefully received. Many thanks Caroline ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MARINERS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
