    3. Hi Can anyone tell me please if a Ship has a name change (Mercahnt Navy) does the ship keep her original number please. Thanks Edie

    3. Hi Edie, Yes, the ship kept her Official Number unless sold to foreign registry. If later repurchased by British owners, the same number was usually re-allocated.
